OUR APPROACH
OUR APPROACH
Some chiropractors adjust your spine and send you on your way. That’s not how we do things at Exum. We believe in finding and treating the underlying cause of problems, not just the symptoms. To do this, we use a four-step process to discover the cause and tailor our treatment accordingly. There’s no “one adjustment fits all” here. Your body and circumstances are uniquely yours. We believe your treatment should be, too.
LISTEN
LISTEN
The first step to any treatment we perform is to listen. You know your body best. You know where you hurt and how bad. And you know when the pain started and possibly what initiated it. Once we’ve listened to your detailed input, we then carefully examine the problem area(s).
LOCATE
LOCATE
With your input as our guide, we perform a thorough examination and careful analysis of the problem area(s) until we locate the underlying cause. As your body is made up of various interconnected systems and structures, you may feel pain in one location, but what’s causing it may be somewhere else entirely.
TREAT
TREAT
Once we’ve located the cause, we treat it using proven techniques, the latest research and state-of-the-art equipment and instruments when needed. From manual manipulation to laser-assisted therapies, we perform a wide range or treatments independently or in conjunction with one another to achieve the desired results for your specific circumstances. Visit our services page to learn more about all of our treatment methods.
TEACH
TEACH
The very best way to treat problems is to prevent them from happening in the first place. We teach you stretching and exercise techniques to help strengthen and increase blood flow to problem areas, as well as improve flexibility, mobility and proper function of your body’s interconnected systems. Performing the stretches and exercises as prescribed helps enhance and maintain the successful outcome of your treatment.

Paula Doerflein-Cooper, LMT
Massage Therapist & Registered Chiropractic Assistant
License Number MA0007650, AMTA Member Number 140486
Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (Level II Certified)
I like to use a variety of techniques to help a patient return to a pain-free lifestyle. Assessment of pain/injury is an important element in determining which techniques should be utilized during treatment. I do not limit myself to just medical massage techniques. I enjoy doing relaxation massages for those who are stressed and need to relax and unwind. I also want to say that it has been a privilege to work with all the doctors past and present at our office. Each doctor has taught me something different about the world of chiropractic over the years. Paula has been licensed by the State of Florida to practice massage since 1987, and has worked at Exum Chiropractic Clinic since 1990.

Angela Mott
Chiropractic Assistant/Billing
I started at Exum in 1996. Shortly after that, I was in a car accident. At first, all I was concerned about was fixing my car. The Exum staff educated me that I needed to “fix” my body as well. Initially, I did not understand the philosophy behind chiropractic, but now I fully embrace it. I verify insurance on all patients before they come to our office. I hope this will minimize any surprises at check out. I also handle all the billing for you. I’m here to help you understand your insurance and billing questions. If you have any questions, please call me.

Heather McLaughlin
Front Office Chiropractic Assistant
I started working here at Exum in April of 2011. Being brand new to chiropractic, I had a lot to learn. I have been fortunate to work with such amazing doctors and co-workers. The staff here at Exum fully embraced me as part of their family, and that transcends to the patients as well.

Ella Moroff

I started working part-time at Exum Chiropractic Clinic in May of 2013. I am now working full time since January 2021. My job at Exum is the Chiropractor’s assistant which consists of taking the patients history, performing different kinds of therapies like the class IV laser, ultrasound, or interferential. I also send medical records to lawyers, help with insurance, order all the supplies/vitamins, social media, and conduct concussion tests. I am honored to be working under my Dad, Dr. Moroff.
